Where to Stay in Darwin
Backpackers and the budget-conscious can choose from an array of hostels and motels, many in the heart of the CBD and within strolling distance of bars, nightclubs and restaurants. The city centre also has a variety of mid-range hotel chains that promise comfort but leave you with enough change to enjoy yourself.
If you’re keen to splash out, there’s ample opportunity. In the CBD you’ll find such time-honoured establishments as the Hilton Hotel, which entices guests with its contemporary rooms and upmarket bar and grill. Over at the Wharf Precinct is the more modern Vibe Hotel Darwin Waterfront, overlooking the popular Wave Lagoon and Stokes Hill Wharf dining precinct. There’s also Skycity, on Gilruth Avenue, which is worth a visit for its extensive array of attractions such as a putting green, restaurants, swimming pool, bars and a casino that’s open 24/7.
